Hello and I am finally back to my posting schedule! As you can already tell from the title I am making up all the posts I didn’t do this week along with today’s normal post. And I will be talking about some Gears of War: Judgement, the Wii U Operating System, some Dead Space 3 DLC, and one extra article about a special new game, so be ready for information overload!
Ok so first on the list is a tour of a new map called “Skyline” in the game Gears of War: Judgement scheduled for release sometime in the next month or two. Now this video explains that it will be a new multiplayer map for the game. now, in the video it is said that they thought that a retreat to the rooftops would be a safe place, but, of course, they were wrong. Now to actually talk about the map, it looks amazing, and with its unequal terrain and the always feeling of not being safe you will always want to be on high ground to defend yourself from the locusts. and one small mistake can change the play of the game permanently because the map is small and there is no room for error.
Ok, now on to the second article, more stuff about the Wii U’s operating system. Shigeru Miyamoto was recently quizzed about the notoriously slow Wii U operating system by Time. Miyamoto explained that the Wii U was a project on an unparalleled scale for Nintendo and that the scope of the project was far beyond their development of the 3DS hardware. Miyamoto says that even during the testing phases of the console it was difficult to ascertain the interactions between the applications which ultimately added inconveniences for the ones who play it.
Now the people at Nintendo News did an interview with Mr. Miyamoto and if you want to read all of it I will give you a link to it below: http://mynintendonews.com/2013/03/07/miyamoto-talks-about-the-slow-wii-u-operating-system-and-forthcoming-update/
Now to some regularly scheduled news, today I have found some info about the Dead Space 3: Awakened DLC and how it has brought back some horrific hallucinations.
Dead Space 3 presented a pretty radical from the first two games in the sci-fi horror series. Too many fetch quests and co-operative play made Isaac Clarke’s third outing against the Necromorphs feel less scary and atmospheric than DS1 & DS2. But, most of all, longtime Dead Space fans missed the freaky hallucinations that made Isaac Clarke doubt his own sanity.
But, you don’t have to worry, the mindfuckery is coming back.
Next week’s Awakened DLC is an epilogue to Dead Space 3‘s main storyline that pits Isaac and partner character John Carver against crazy Unitology cultists on the derelict wreck of the Terra Nova. At a recent preview, an EA representative told Kotaku that head trips are going to be a major part of Awakened and that those who play as Isaac will experience up more hallucinations in the DLC than in the whole game. You can still play co-op, too.
If you want the horror to come back to Dead Space 3, then you should know that Awakened is coming to PSN, Xbox Live and Origin on March 12. European PSN gets it on March 13 so I bet you just cant wait for it! Well, Heres some photos to get you pumped about it even more.
Alright, now if that last game didn’t creep you out enough here’s a story about this new survival horror game that can never be played the same way twice. This new game is called Darkwood.
The fear of the unknown is powerful.Darkwoood takes that idea to heart: it’s a top-down procedurally generated survival horror game. This means that every time you play, you’ll experience something different.
Adding to the tension is the fact that the game features roguelike elements and permadeath. You’ll also be able to craft items, build barricades, and naturally, explore.
The footage above is of Darkwood in a pre-alpha stage, but even this early on, you can see both the eerie atmosphere and some of the mechanics in-play. Looks like a game to keep an eye on. And I can’t wait to play it.
Now For The Questions!
